Greenhouse envy, brought to us by Clem.

It’s lucky for me that the photo guy spends more time at the kitchen sink than I do. He fixes my coffee, he does the dish washing. This means that every morning, thanks to the photo guy, I can avoid looking longingly out the window above my kitchen sink at my neighbors greenhouse.

It’s a modest greenhouse, I agree. It took him 2 days to build it.

In March, when he returns, from his winters spend skiing the high peaks,(another audible sigh), he starts his seedlings, while I wait patiently for the Spring, White Flower Farm Catalog. By May, his tomatoes are setting fruit, his flowers are ready to live outside, and his greenhouse, is both lush and productive.

Hiding on my terrace with the offending neighboring greenhouse well out of my sight, I take some measure of all that’s glorious on my side of the street.

Next morning, I still want the damn greenhouse.

So here’s my dream greenhouse.

And here’s a perfectly acceptable compromise for those if us who stuck in the hope phase of greenhouse love.

Enjoy your gardens!
